The general assembly re-elects the existing executive board – Kristian Straub joins as the new vice president
The general assembly of the Darmstadt Rhine-Main-Neckar Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) re-elected President Christian Jöst and the five existing vice presidents. Kristian Straub elected to the seven-member executive board. The regularly scheduled election took place midway through the legislative period, which runs from April 2024 to April 2029.

Christian Jöst, Managing Director of Jöst Abrasives in Wald-Michelbach, was unanimously re-elected as President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), according to the IHK. "I thank you for the trust placed in me and our board," Jöst stated. He cited reducing bureaucracy, securing skilled workers, and providing greater planning certainty for companies as key priorities for future work.
Five vice presidents confirmed in office
The five existing vice presidents were also re-elected by the general assembly. The executive committee continues to include Matthias Bürk of Merck in Darmstadt, Barbara Eichelmann-Klebl of be! Unternehmensberatung and Fidelio-SchokoFrüchte in Darmstadt, Rainer Fischer of Suckow & Fischer Systeme in Biebesheim, Elfi Gruß of workflow plus in Darmstadt, and Ulrike Jakobi of Edeka Jakobi in Bensheim.
Kristian Straub was newly elected . The position became vacant after Laura Odenwälder resigned from her position as a member of the General Assembly.

Kristian Straub joins the board
Straub, 45, is Director of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development at Lufthansa Seeheim, the Lufthansa Group's conference hotel. He has been a member of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) General Assembly since 2019. In 2024, the hotel management graduate also assumed the chairmanship of the IHK's Tourism Committee.
The Executive Committee consists of seven members of the General Assembly and prepares topics and resolutions for the work of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). The General Assembly comprises a total of 73 volunteer business owners . The President, together with the Managing Director, represents the IHK externally.
