Support for sick children and their families begins as soon as the diagnosis
Frankfurt. The German Children's Hospice Services (Deutsche Kinderhospiz Dienste e.V.) are among the participants of the Jobrotation, which takes place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the BBBank Arena in Frankfurt . The organization supports children, adolescents, and young adults with life-limiting illnesses and also assists their families.
Children's hospice care doesn't begin only in the final weeks or days of a child's life. The German Children's Hospice Services support affected families from the moment of diagnosis , thus complementing medical care. This support primarily takes place within the families' immediate social environment and is free of charge.
The entire family is the focus
A life-limiting illness doesn't just affect the sick child. That's why German children's hospice services involve the entire family in their work. Siblings play a particularly important role, as their own wishes, worries, and needs can easily be overlooked when a brother or sister is ill.

Highly trained volunteers regularly dedicate time to the siblings. In addition, the organization arranges outings, meetings, and joint activities with other siblings. They should have the opportunity to talk about their feelings, experience community, and find their own way of coping with the difficult family situation.
Enabling quality of life and participation
The goal of children's hospice care is to enable affected children and their families to experience as much quality of life, joy, and social participation as possible despite the serious illness. This also includes building networks that can support families in their daily lives and provide support during difficult times.
At the job rotation event, the German Children's Hospice Services present their work and offer interested parties the opportunity to learn more about the tasks and commitment involved in children's hospice work.
