A career in the police force offers more than just the classic patrol service

Dual studies last three years
The dual study program at the Hessian police force begins in February and September and has a standard duration of three years. Studies take place at the campuses in Wiesbaden, Mühlheim am Main, Gießen, or Kassel. Trainee police officers receive a salary during their studies.
Theory and practice are combined to prepare students for the diverse tasks of the police profession.
Requirements for application
Several requirements apply for employment. Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent qualification. Applications are also accepted from those with a secondary school leaving certificate and a completed three-year vocational training program with a minimum grade of 2.5, or with a master craftsman's certificate.
Other requirements include fitness for police service, a minimum height of 155 centimeters , and a maximum age of 36 years on the day of hiring. Applicants must not have a criminal record. A Class B driver's license must be held no later than the day of hiring.
