“GG läuft” will lead to road closures around Dornberg, Berkach and Büttelborn on June 18th
The GGV company run, "GG läuft" (GG Runs), will take place for the twelfth time on Thursday, June 18, 2026. As in previous years, the popular running event starts and finishes at Dornberg Castle in Groß-Gerau. The starting gun will fire at 7 p.m., and the last participants are expected to cross the finish line around 8 p.m.
Due to the event, there will be temporary traffic disruptions and road closures in several areas.
The proven route will remain in place
The route introduced in 2025 will be retained this year as well. This is due to increased safety requirements, which necessitated an adjustment to the original route.
The route leads from Dornberg Castle along paved farm tracks to the main road between Berkach and Büttelborn. From there, the course runs along the Landgraben, past the SKV Büttelborn sports grounds, before the runners return to Dornberg Castle.
These closures will be in effect during the company run
The following traffic regulations apply for the duration of the event:
- The main road between Berkach and Büttelborn will be completely closed from 6:30 p.m. The closure will be lifted after the finish line is crossed, around 8:00 p.m.
- In Büttelborn, the main road is closed from the SKV Büttelborn parking lot. The parking lot remains accessible.
- In Berkach, the main road through the village is only passable up to the Groß-Gerauer Straße intersection.
- Access to the main road in Dornberg opposite the pheasantry is not possible.
- The main road is closed from Friedrich-Engels-Straße onwards. Residents can drive up to the race route.
Detour via the B44 recommended
The city of Groß-Gerau and the municipality of Büttelborn recommend that road users avoid the affected area during the event by taking a wide detour via the B44 federal highway.
The closures will be lifted as soon as the last runners have left the course.
The company run is one of the largest mass sports events in the region and brings together numerous companies, clubs and running enthusiasts every year.
