Around 3500 young people are learning about career paths from 66 exhibitors
As the Groß-Gerau district reports, there was a large turnout at the Groß-Gerau district sports hall on Thursday (November 13). Around 3,500 students, primarily from grades 9 and 10, gathered information about career prospects and entry-level opportunities at the 2025 apprenticeship fair .
A total of 66 exhibitors from the district and the region presented their training and study programs. Employees from trades, construction, nursing and healthcare, local government, police, customs, automotive and event technology were available to answer questions and engage in discussions with the young people.
Diverse insights and direct contacts
In addition to the exhibition stands, the Speaker's Lounge in a side room offered further insights: Nine companies took turns presenting themselves, reporting on working conditions, training requirements and remuneration, and answering questions from the young people.
Tour by those in charge
During their joint tour of the trade fair, the mayor of the district town of Groß-Gerau, Jörg Rüddenklau, school principal Sabine Kämpf , and district administrator Thomas Will were impressed by the breadth of offerings. All three emphasized the importance of such career orientation programs in providing young people with realistic insights and future opportunities.

District Administrator Will recalled how much the job market has changed: "In my time, there were far more applicants than positions. Today, young people have a wide selection; all companies are looking for new talent."
