Dual leadership takes over in the new legislative period
The Green Party parliamentary group in Seeheim-Jugenheim is entering the next legislative period with a new leadership structure. Katja Ebert remains chair of the parliamentary group and will share the position with Christina Scobie in a dual leadership role.
Experience and new impulses in leadership
Katja Ebert continues to contribute her many years of experience in local politics to the work of the parliamentary group. Newly elected co-chair Christina Scobie is a member of the municipal council for the first time and complements the leadership with professional experience and new perspectives.
Key positions in parliament filled
As the second-largest party, the Greens were able to assume several key positions. The municipal council elected Karl Georg Bayer as First Deputy Mayor. Furthermore, Suse Bruer will chair the environmental committee.
With a total of 11 seats in the municipal council and three seats each in the committees, the faction considers itself well positioned for political work.
Focus on climate and environmental policy
The Greens intend to continue focusing on sustainable development and climate protection. This includes, among other things, reducing the use of fossil fuels in sectors such as transportation and heating, as well as expanding renewable energy sources.
Strong presence in the districts
The Green Party is also represented at the local level: They hold a majority on the Malchen local council and were able to re-elect Eckard Woite as mayor. The party also has members on the local councils in other districts.
Exam to kick off the work
At the start of the new legislative period, the parliamentary group is planning a closed-door meeting. The aim is to define political priorities, strengthen cooperation, and lay the foundations for the work ahead.
