The Hessian gaming association invites you to the Justus Liebig House on July 1st
Just one day before the start of the Heinerfest, the Hessian Theater Association invites you to the traditional Heinerfest reading at the Justus Liebig House. The event takes place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and is considered by many visitors to be an atmospheric prelude to the "Darmstadt Festival of Festivals.".
Under the motto “Da will mer sich e Vergnieje mache …”, guests can expect a varied program with stories, poems and humorous contributions in Hessian dialect, Heinerdeutsch and Standard German.
Traditional opening to the Heinerfest
The Heinerfest reading has become a firmly established part of Darmstadt's festival calendar in recent years. With humorous and locally themed texts, it sets the mood for the upcoming festivities and repeatedly addresses typical Darmstadt themes.
Karin Heist and her reading team will organize the evening and present a selection of entertaining contributions for Heinerfest fans and friends of regional culture.
Musical accompaniment by Peter Fischer
The event will once again be musically accompanied by Peter Fischer, who will provide the appropriate music between the readings.
The Heinerfest reading begins at 7 p.m. The hall in the Justus Liebig House opens at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is free.
