Triathletes impress at the Jacobi road race and workshop
The start of the 2026 season in Griesheim focused on both athletic performance and practical preparation. According to the triathlon department, several athletes participated in the 53rd Jacobi Road Race and also completed a cycling technology workshop.
Strong performance at the half marathon
Just in time for the start of the 53rd Jacobi Road Race, the rain had stopped; only a steady north wind accompanied the runners. Three athletes from the triathlon department started the half marathon distance of 21.1 kilometers on Sunday morning.
Ulrike Bickert and Guido Götz crossed the finish line in 1:54:48 and 1:55:28 hours, respectively. Ulrike Bickert secured second place in the W50 age group. Christian Dalla Libera completed his first half marathon in 1:37:30 hours.
All three athletes were satisfied with their performances and are therefore highly motivated to start the new season.
Technical workshop prepares for the season
The traditional bicycle repair workshop took place on Saturday. The cycling athletes were taught how to carry out basic repairs and adjustments on their bicycles themselves.
The focus was on topics such as fixing flat tires, adjusting gears and brakes, and working on the bottom bracket. The content was taught both theoretically and practically.
