Workshops, family activities and guided tours are on the program – the adventure country market opens at the end of the month
The September program at Kranichstein Hunting Lodge in Darmstadt combines art, nature, and history. From September 5th to 27th, the program includes an oil painting workshop, activities for families, guided tours, and the experiential country market.
The series kicks off on Saturday, September 5, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the three-part workshop "Figurative Oil Painting – Trying Out a Tradition Yourself." Inspired by the works of court painter Georg Adam Eger, beginners and advanced students will learn the fundamentals of oil painting and create their own painting. Further sessions will be held on September 12 and 19, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Participation in all three sessions costs €250, including materials and museum admission.
September program at Kranichstein Hunting Lodge for families
At the "Forest Adventure with Dabbe," children aged four to six can discover nature on Sunday, September 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. under the motto "A Splendor of Colors in the Forest and Meadow." From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the castle tour "Take a Look! Court Painter Eger and the Art of Being Seen" will follow.
On Sunday, September 13, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the "From Tree to Table" visitor lab will be all about apples. Families with children aged six to ten can harvest and examine apple varieties from the outdoor lab and taste them. This activity will be repeated on September 20 at the same time.
This Sunday offers further family activities: From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Muses Marge and Ronja invite children to a theatrical puppet show, "Experience a Journey Through Time – A Day in the Life of a Court Painter."
