Darmstadt will launch new free educational programs starting April 22, 2026, in the open learning workshop at M² in Bürgerpark. As the city of Darmstadt announced, the adult education center invites all interested individuals to learn, read, and exchange ideas together.
New learning formats without registration
The focus is on three innovative formats: "Learning Bites," "Word Magic," and so-called meeting spaces. The offerings are free, flexible, and accessible without registration.
The "learning bites" provide practical content for everyday professional life. The "Word Magic" format aims to foster a love of reading. In the meeting spaces, the focus is on exchange and shared experiences.
Overview of opening dates
The launch will take place with several events:
- April, 2 to 4 p.m.: "Learning Bites" on the topic of dealing with change
- April, 3 to 5 p.m.: Meeting space “Together in the We and Now”
- May, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: “Word Magic” with the theme “Play”
Part of a funded pilot project
The new programs are part of a pilot project to strengthen personal and professional skills. The project is funded by the state of Hesse as part of its continuing education pact.
Among those involved in the implementation are the municipal enterprise Darmstädter Werkstätten und Wohneinrichtungen, the Frankfurt-Rhein-Main Chamber of Skilled Crafts and Trades, and Transition Town Darmstadt.
The project aims to create low-threshold access to education – close to home and open to all population groups.
