Rheingau author Miriam Grünkemeier supports charitable projects for children and young people with her book
an author from the Rheingau region, has combined her children's book "LUMI Finds Happiness" with a social project. For every copy sold through the project website, €20 will be donated to a selected non-profit children's project. Currently, the MainLichtblick eV association is being supported.
The book tells the story of Lumi, who is initially just a small dot without a name or destination. Starting with the question "Who am I?", the character embarks on a journey and encounters themes such as friendship, farewell, fear, courage, love, hope, and being different.
A story about values and happiness
According to the author, the story is intended for both children and adults and is meant to encourage conversation about values such as compassion, humanity, and trust.
The idea came about after attending a performance of "The Little Prince". "I didn't just want to write a book about values, but it should also offer concrete help," Grünkemeier explains the starting point for the project.
This led to the development of a connection between book sales and financial support for charitable projects. According to the author, 20 euros from each copy sold via the project website will go directly to the selected project.
MainLichtblick is currently being supported
MainLichtblick eV is currently a partner in the project. The non-profit organization fulfills the personal wishes of seriously ill, traumatized, and physically disabled children.
In the future, other non-profit organizations, associations, and initiatives will also be eligible to apply. According to the project, organizations that support children and young people in difficult life situations can apply. Areas mentioned include health, education, inclusion, social participation, and family support.
Project seeks further supporters
Furthermore, the project is seeking companies, foundations, and private sponsors. They can, for example, cover printing costs or purchase books for employees, customers, or other recipients.
Grünkemeier lives in the Rheingau region and, according to her own statement, works full-time for a charitable organization. With "LUMI Finds Happiness," she wants to combine the themes of the book with concrete support for children's projects.
