The beginner triathlon organized by SG Arheilgen once again attracts numerous athletes to the Arheilgen Mühlchen
The triathlon section of SG Arheilgen hosted the popular Mühlchen Triathlon for the 34th time on Sunday, June 21, 2026. Nearly 400 participants took part in the event under summery temperatures, making it a thoroughly successful event with great enthusiasm from both athletes and spectators.
The organizers would like to express their sincere thanks to the local residents and all those affected by the event for their understanding and consideration. Without this support, the triathlon would not be possible.
Popular competition for beginners
The Mühlchen Triathlon has made a name for itself in recent years as a triathlon for beginners. This year, many participants again took the plunge into the endurance triathlon of swimming, cycling, and running for the first time.
The transition area showcased the diversity of the participants: everything from high-end racing bikes to classic touring bikes was represented. It is precisely this openness that gives the event its special character.
Summer conditions at Arheilger Mühlchen
The first swimmers started at 9 a.m. in the Arheilger Mühlchen. With a water temperature of just over 26 degrees Celsius, conditions were ideal for the start of the competition.
The cycling route then led through the region in temperatures of around 32 degrees Celsius. The breeze provided some cooling during the ride. However, the heat became a real challenge during the final run, reminding many participants of the conditions at major triathlon competitions.
No major incidents
Despite the high temperatures, the event proceeded without any major incidents or accidents. All participants reached the finish line safely and were able to celebrate their achievements.
After the competition, many athletes took the opportunity to relax and enjoy the rest of the day together. Over coffee and cake, sausages, salads, and cold drinks, they talked about their experiences on the course.
Anniversary edition next year
The triathlon department of SG Arheilgen draws a positive conclusion and is already looking ahead to next year. The 35th Mühlchen Triathlon will mark a special anniversary, and the organizers hope to welcome numerous participants to the Mühlchen in Arheilgen once again.
