Fire service badge assessment at the Leeheim fire station
In Riedstadt, 64 children successfully completed the "Paw" badge test for the children's fire brigade. The Riedstadt-wide test took place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the fire station in the Leeheim district.
Diverse tasks related to fire service knowledge
The children, aged six to ten, competed in four performance levels and had to complete various tasks. These included fire service-specific exercises such as tying knots, as well as knowledge of proper fire handling and emergency procedures.
In addition, participants were able to develop their own projects in advance in areas such as sports, creativity, social issues, or ecology. The results were presented on the day of the exam.
Successful completion for all participants
After the exams were completed, the results were in: all 64 children passed successfully. They received their certificates in a celebratory ceremony.
Among those offering congratulations was Marcus Kretschmann, who presented the awards together with representatives of the fire department.
Focus on youth development within the fire department
The regular awarding of the badge underscores the importance of youth work within the fire service. The aim is to impart knowledge at an early age and to foster interest in volunteering.
