Opening in the Forum at the Town Hall with activities for visitors
The new media center in the Forum am Rathaus in Seeheim-Jugenheim will open its doors to the public for the first time on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
A glimpse into new spaces and offerings
Between 2 pm and 4 pm, visitors can tour the new premises and borrow some media. Three free library cards and other prizes will be raffled off among the guests. Children can participate in a creative activity where they can design their own bookmarks.
The media library replaces the previous community libraries in Seeheim and Jugenheim, which were previously housed in historic town halls.
Modern meeting place with a diverse range of offerings
The new facility covers an area of more than 200 square meters. Generous window fronts, reading nooks, quiet areas, and workspaces are designed to invite visitors to linger. A specially designed children's corner is also part of the concept.
The media collection comprises approximately 10,000 books. For children and young people, non-fiction, fiction, and special formats such as TipToi and Tonies remain available. For adults, the focus will shift to fiction, supplemented by selected non-fiction books with a regional focus and on topics such as travel and history.
Digital use and e-lending planned
In the future, the media library will operate with a digital lending system. This will allow users to research and place reservations from home. Additionally, there are plans to expand the service with an online lending platform for e-books.
Opening hours and registration
The media library in the Forum at the town hall (Schulstraße 18) will be open at the following times:
Tuesday: 3 pm to 6 pm;
Wednesday: 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm;
Thursday: 3 pm to 7 pm;
