Local association confirms board and demands more security at St. Matthew's Church
The SPD Heimstättensiedlung is committed to continuity: At the annual meeting on June 13, 2026, the honorary city councilor Rita Beller was unanimously re-elected as chairwoman of the local association.
With the unanimous vote, the members confirmed the work of the board team over the past two years and once again expressed their confidence in Rita Beller.
A look back at local politics and neighborhood work
In her report, the chairwoman reviewed the activities of the local association. In addition to the local elections, the focus was on various local issues as well as events and gatherings in the district.
A current concern involves the traffic situation in front of St. Matthew's Church. The SPD Heimstättensiedlung is demanding, for safety reasons, the removal of the existing parking lot and the installation of a pedestrian crossing.
According to the local association, this would particularly improve the safety of kindergarten children and elderly people at the busy location.
“This latest example shows: We are the first point of contact for the residents in local political matters and also an important social anchor in our district – visible and reliable: We take care of things,” explained Rita Beller.
Board of Directors re-elected
The other board members were also elected or confirmed in their positions.
Wolfgang Galsheimer and Manuela Heinrich will continue to serve as deputy chairpersons on the board. Robert Pfeiffer remains treasurer, and Janina Büching continues as secretary. Frank Horneff was elected media officer.
In addition, the general meeting elected the assessors of the local association.
Delegates nominated for SPD party conferences
Rita Beller, Frank Horneff, Robert Pfeiffer, Janina Büching and Bijan Kaffenberger were elected as delegates to the SPD Darmstadt party conferences.
The alternate delegates are Werner Rein, Jan Swiderski, Dennis Heinrich, Dirk Nissen, Elisabeth Amann-Weinitschke, Manuela Heinrich and Harald Kress.
The local association considers itself well positioned
With the newly elected board team, the SPD Heimstättensiedlung sees itself as still well positioned.
"The SPD local association Heimstättensiedlung will continue to be the primary contact for the interests of the citizens in our district," emphasized the re-elected chairwoman Rita Beller in conclusion.
