Successful starts in Frankfurt and at the middle distance race in Baden-Württemberg
The triathletes of SGA have had a successful competition weekend. While Guido Götz competed in the 10-kilometer race in Frankfurt, four athletes took on the challenge of the Ironman 70.3 Kraichgau.
Guido Götz with a solid run in Frankfurt
At the Frankfurt races, Guido Götz (M50 age group) completed the ten-kilometer distance in 56:15 minutes. Given his current training focus, he was satisfied with the result.
The athlete is currently preparing for a long-distance race and is therefore not specifically training for short and fast running competitions.
Four SGA athletes at the Ironman 70.3 Kraichgau
Anke Werner (W50), Moritz Mattern (M35), Anselm Schüle (M40) and Sascha Prehn (M50) competed in the Ironman 70.3 Kraichgau. The middle-distance triathlon consists of a 1.9-kilometer swim, a 90-kilometer bike ride, and a half marathon of 21.1 kilometers.
For spectators, the race between Werner, Schüle, and Prehn developed into a particularly exciting competition. For much of the race, the three athletes were closely bunched together.
Strong performances in the middle distance
Moritz Mattern completed his first ever middle-distance triathlon in Kraichgau, crossing the finish line after 5:41:31 hours. He was understandably pleased with his debut.
Anselm Schüle achieved the fastest time from SGA's perspective. He crossed the finish line after a strong 5:13:04 hours.
Sascha Prehn followed with a total time of 5:15:04 hours. Anke Werner reached the finish line after 5:17:19 hours, thus completing the successful team result.
