KiJuPa commemorates victims of National Socialism with a cleaning campaign
Nauheim. On the afternoon of November 5, 2025, a group of children and teenagers knelt on the sidewalks of Nauheim to clean and polish the 18 Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) in the town . The event was organized by the Nauheim Children's and Youth Parliament (KiJuPa) and was dedicated to remembrance.
The young participants were supported by youth worker Brînduşa Salzgeber, who regularly initiates projects on civic engagement with the Children's and Youth Parliament (KiJuPa). Hans Joachim Brugger, a board member of the Nauheim Local History and Museum Association, was also invited to the event. He explained the origins of the Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) and provided insights into the history of the town's Jewish citizens.
Accompanied by Mayor Marc Friedrich (independent), the group visited all the locations where Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) are laid – the last known residences of Nauheim residents of Jewish faith.

The Stolpersteine (stumbling stones), initiated by the artist Gunter Demnig, commemorates the victims of Nazi persecution and is financed through donations and sponsorships . Its aim is to make the suffering of Jews, Sinti, and Roma during the Nazi era visible through personal remembrance in public spaces.
Mayor Friedrich expressed his sincere thanks for the commitment of the children and young people: "This campaign shows how important a culture of remembrance is for future generations."
In closing, Hans Joachim Brugger to the commemoration of the pogrom on November 9th at 5 p.m. at the wall of the historic Nauheim town hall. The event is being held jointly with the clergy of the two Christian churches and the Nauheim Rural Women's Association .
