Children visit businesses and the town hall in Pfungstadt and the surrounding area
Under the motto "Looking Behind the Scenes," the summer holiday activities organized by the Pfungstadt Children and Youth Services have come to an end. As a finale, the children were given exciting insights into companies, craft businesses, and the town hall.
At the Öhlschläger in Hahn, participants learned how cars are repaired, painted, and refurbished. They were also given a tour of the truck workshop with its repair pit. The visit concluded with ice cream.
Also in Hahn, master interior decorator Frank Neeb, together with his daughter Naila, demonstrated the diverse tasks of his profession – from laying floor coverings and wallpapering to upholstering furniture. The children then had the opportunity to paste and hang wallpaper themselves.
At the Rhein-Main Natural Stone Center in Pfungstadt, the children learned about different types of natural stone and their uses. The highlight was a ride in a large construction machine. The event concluded with a quiz and the children received sun hats and safety vests as gifts.
At the Brunnen Pharmacy in Eschollbrücken, the focus was on medication, laboratory work, and health knowledge. Among other things, the children were allowed to fill containers with tea, look through a microscope, and learn why medications must be dosed correctly.
To conclude the visit, Mayor Maximilian Schimmel the group to the town hall. After showing them the mayor's office and the council chamber, he answered questions about his daily work. Following this, youth worker Matthias Hirt led a tour of the town administration.
The visit to the Seidel. There, the children learned how adhesive tapes for cardboard boxes are made. A quiz with small prizes rounded off the holiday activity.
