Punk classics and original songs on April 30, 2026
Musician Uli Sailor will be performing his project "Punkrock Piano" at the Künstlerkeller Darmstadt on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The concert starts at 8:30 p.m., doors open at 7:30 p.m.
Sailor interprets punk songs in an unusual way: alone at the piano. His approach follows a central tenet of punk – doing things differently. Without electric guitars, he adapts well-known songs and his own compositions for the piano, creating a new musical perspective on the genre.
Uli Sailor first became known as a musician in various punk and indie bands. In the 1990s, he founded the band D-Sailors in Jülich, North Rhine-Westphalia, and later played in the indie rock band TUSQ, among others. After the reunion of the Berlin punk band Terrorgruppe, he became their first keyboardist. Following the band's breakup in 2022, he launched his solo career.
With his "punk rock piano," Sailor interprets songs by bands such as NOFX, Lagwagon, and Bad Religion, as well as pieces by German groups like WIZO, Schrottgrenze, and Terrorgruppe. He is also working on his own material.
Following the EP "Forever Young" from 2024, his debut album, featuring ten songs about themes such as love, loss, and attitude, will be released in spring 2026. Sailor will also present the new tracks in Darmstadt as part of his tour.
