The "Knowledge for all!" pavilion offers lectures, workshops and hands-on activities from August 12th to 28th
The Darmstadt Adult Education Center (vhs) is taking its educational offerings outdoors this summer. As part of World Design Capital 2026, it is hosting nine free activity days from August 12th to 28th in the "Knowledge for All!" pavilion in front of the Justus Liebig House.
From Wednesday to Friday, visitors can expect a diverse program of lectures, workshops, and hands-on activities. Topics range from democracy, career, and sustainability to creativity, exercise, and health, as well as music, theater, and languages. All events are free of charge.
The event kicks off on August 12th with a Democracy Day featuring an evening of dialogue on the topics of belonging and integration. On August 13th, Career Day will provide information on university studies, continuing education, and professional qualifications. The following day, Sustainability Day will focus on climate protection and sustainable practices.
The second week of activities includes a creative day (August 19), a movement day (August 20), and a games day (August 21). The program concludes with a dance, theater, and music day (August 26), a health day (August 27), and a language day ( August 28).
In addition to the action days, the adult education center offers other free events. These include lectures on disinformation, conspiracy theories, deepfakes, self-help, as well as exercise programs such as yoga and walk and lunchtime yoga.
The action days are part of the World Design Capital 2026, which brings together numerous events in Darmstadt and the surrounding region from July to October. The aim of the "Knowledge for All!" pavilion is to facilitate education, encounters, and exchange in the open air.
The full program and further information are available on the website of the Darmstadt Adult Education Center.
