Under the title "What kind of art does World Heritage need?", the association WIR FÜR KULTUR eViG invites you to a panel discussion on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Justus Liebig House in Darmstadt. The discussion will focus on the question of what cultural and artistic content can shape World Heritage sites.
On the podium are Prof. Susanne Pfeffer, director of the MMK Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt am Main, Jürgen Kaube, co-publisher of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Darmstadt's mayor and cultural affairs officer Hanno Benz, and Hilde Förster-Heldmann, member of the state parliament and chairwoman of the cultural committee of the city of Darmstadt.
What kind of art does World Heritage need?
The discussion addresses the question of what content the various "vessels" of World Heritage could contain and what role art and culture play in this. Further thematic focuses are not mentioned in this announcement.
The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Petra Gehring from the Institute of Philosophy at TU Darmstadt.
