Interactive activities, a discussion panel and a free Jovan concert on September 20th around Schloss-Schule and Ohlystift
Under the motto "WE celebrate respect!", will be celebrated in Gräfenhausen on Sunday, September 20, 2026. Around the Schloss-Schule (Castle School) and the Ohlystift (Ohly Foundation), there will be games, creative activities, and opportunities to participate starting at 3 p.m. The program also includes a panel discussion on the topic of respect and a free concert by Darmstadt rapper Jovan.
The event is aimed at children, teenagers, and adults from Weiterstadt. Starting at 3 p.m. , various games and creative activities will be offered.
A conversation about respect with Heike Hofmann
At 5 p.m., a dialogue on the topic of respect will begin. Participants include the Hessian Minister for Social Affairs, Heike Hofmann, Weiterstadt's Mayor, Niklas Gehnich, and the Darmstadt rapper Jovan. Visitors will also be able to participate in the discussion.
The World Children's Day celebrations will conclude with a live concert by Jovan starting at 6 p.m.Admission is free.
The event is being organized by the Gräfenhausen district forum and the Weiterstadt WIRkt network. The organizers are being supported by the Weiterstadt Integration Guides (KISI). According to the organizers, the event is co-financed by the European Union and the state of Hesse.
