Benefit concert in the Orangery honors lifetime achievement
The Chopin Society of Darmstadt is honoring pianist Carmen Piazzini for her life's work. She will give a benefit concert in the Orangerie in Darmstadt on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Over 70 years of musical activity
Carmen Piazzini has lived and worked in Darmstadt for more than seven decades. With her interpretations of classical works and her commitment to young musicians, she has made a name for herself far beyond the region.
Concert program featuring well-known composers
The concert begins at 5 p.m. In the first part, the pianist will present works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Robert Schumann. After the intermission, the chamber music program will feature Franz Schubert's Piano Trio, performed together with Peter Wolf (cello) and Ingo de Haas (violin).
The laudatory speech will be given by cultural journalist Johannes Breckner.
Commitment to supporting young musicians
Alongside her international career, Carmen Piazzini worked for many years as a professor and was deeply involved in the training of young musicians. She also had a formative influence at the Academy of Music in Darmstadt.
She is donating her fee from the benefit concert to a musical project.
