Closing event of the KVHS Groß-Gerau on April 30th
The adult education center in the Groß-Gerau district invites you to the closing event of the "Municipal Climate Scouts" project on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The presentation of the results will take place at Dornberg Castle.
Practical program for trainees
The qualification program is aimed at trainees in public administrations and municipal enterprises. Its goal is to provide practical training in climate protection and to enable participants to implement their own projects in their communities.
The project started in November 2025 in cooperation with Energie2000 and is funded by the Hessian Climate Communities of the Hessian State Energy Agency. The district adult education center organizes the workshops and supports the participants until completion.
From theory to concrete projects
Several modules covered the fundamentals of climate protection and project management. However, the focus was on the participants' own self-developed mini-projects.
Ten trainees from seven municipalities in southern Hesse have implemented their own ideas. These include exchange platforms, wildflower meadows, climate boxes for daycare centers, and approaches for improved energy management.
The projects were developed based on clearly defined goals and milestones and are intended to have a long-term impact on the communities.
Public presentation and networking
On the day of the event, participants will first gain insights into the district's climate protection measures during an excursion to the district administration office.
From 11 a.m., the project teams will present their results to the public at Dornberg Castle. Afterwards, the certificates will be presented by District Administrator Thomas Will and the director of the district adult education center.
The event is also aimed at municipal representatives and interested parties who would like to learn about climate protection projects and network.
