Hiking, cycling trips and family excursions lead as far as Saarland and Tenerife
The Odenwald Club Groß-Gerau has presented its hiking and events program for 2027. At a well-attended members' meeting with 61 participants, hiking coordinator Beate Bolbach presented the planned activities. The program ranges from day hikes through the region and multi-day trips to cycling tours, health hikes, and family events. Among the special destinations next year are the Saarland and the Canary Island of Tenerife.
With its diverse program, the club aims to appeal to people of different ages and interests. In addition to sporting activities, shared experiences in nature and social events are also key components.
Hiking through the Odenwald, Taunus and Palatinate
The planned tours will take members and guests of the Odenwald Club to numerous hiking regions. These include the Odenwald, Rheinhessen, the Spessart, and the Taunus. Destinations in Baden-Württemberg, the Palatinate, and Saarland are also on the program.
In addition to classic full-day hikes, a nature conservation hike and a night hike are planned. The monthly themed hikes with packed lunches will remain a regular feature.
New to the program are health hikes, which add another opportunity for exercise in nature.
Multi-day hiking trips to Tenerife
The Odenwald Club has also prepared various offers for hiking enthusiasts who prefer longer excursions.
Planned activities include a women's hike, a men's hike, and a family city tour, each lasting several days.
Among the highlights of the 2027 hiking season are multi-day hiking trips to Saarland and Tenerife. With these trips, the club expands its program to include destinations that go significantly beyond the region's traditional hiking areas.
Cycling tours and two-day cycling trips
Besides hiking, cycling also plays an important role in the annual program.
One bike tour per month is planned. In addition, the Odenwald Club is planning a two-day cycling tour.
This also makes the offer suitable for people who prefer to explore the landscape on two wheels.
Family activities including Easter egg hunt and St. Nicholas celebration
The Odenwald Club also offers numerous activities for families with children. Various excursions by train, bus, or on foot are planned.
Traditional events include the family Easter egg hunt and the St. Nicholas celebration in the woods. The popular children's dance classes are also scheduled to take place again next year.
The programs are designed to enable shared experiences and promote the joy of movement and community among even the youngest participants.
Socializing is part of club life
In addition to sporting activities, the Odenwald Club Groß-Gerau plans various social events, some of which will take place in the club's own clubhouse.
These include, among other things, the apple wine festival, a bowling hike, a joint visit to a Christmas market and the Christmas party.
The members' meeting, at which the new annual program was presented, concluded with a slideshow by Dieter Lochmüller.
Information about the hiking program
The Odenwald Club regularly informs members and guests about its activities. In addition to its website, it uses notice boards, a monthly newsletter, and the social networks Facebook and Instagram for this purpose.
