EAD provides information about changes related to public holidays
The Darmstadt Municipal Services and Operations Department (EAD) is informing residents about changes to waste collection dates in Darmstadt during May and early June. This is due to several public holidays, which necessitate adjustments to the waste collection schedule.
Changes around May 1st
In the 18th calendar week, the collection dates will be brought forward:
- Monday, April 27 → Saturday, April 25
- Tuesday, April 28 → Monday, April 27
- Wednesday, April 29 → Tuesday, April 28
- Thursday, April 30 → Wednesday, April 29
- Friday, May 1 → Thursday, April 30
Ascension Day postponements
There will also be changes around Ascension Day (20th calendar week):
- Thursday, May 14 → Friday, May 15
- Friday, May 15 → Saturday, May 16
Instructions for providing the bins
The EAD requests that waste containers be placed out according to the revised collection schedule. Organic waste bins, paper bins, and recycling bins should be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on the respective collection day. Larger containers should also be made accessible in good time.
Digital memories available
All changes are recorded in the online waste collection calendar and in the EAD app. Users of the information email will also be reminded of the new dates in good time.
Facilities closed on public holidays
The composting plant in Kranichstein, as well as the recycling center and the special waste collection point, will remain closed on May 1st and May 25th.
