Employees can voluntarily perform reserve service
The Darmstadt Rhine-Main-Neckar Chamber of Industry and Commerce has entered into a partnership with the Hesse State Command. The aim is to strengthen homeland security and to enable employees to volunteer as reservists.
Leave of absence for reserve duty
Under the agreement, IHK employees can volunteer for reserve duty. They are released from their professional duties for training and further education as well as potential deployments.
The offer is generally aimed at employees with German citizenship.
Homeland protection as a societal responsibility
According to the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), the partnership aims to raise awareness of the importance of homeland security. This includes, among other things, the protection of critical infrastructure, the securing of transport routes, and support in disaster situations.
Participation also possible for companies
Other companies in Hesse can also participate in the initiative. By partnering with the initiative, companies declare their willingness to release employees for such assignments.
According to the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), more than 450 companies and institutions in Hesse have already signed such an agreement.
