Love song waltzes and international choral music on May 17th
The 76th Dotter Concert in Darmstadt is part of the statewide "A Day for Music" event organized by hr2-kultur. Under the motto "Hesse in Concert," artists will present music from a wide variety of genres throughout Hesse on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Brahms at the heart of the program
The concert, entitled "Awaken, My Heart's Beauty," features, among other works, the famous love song waltzes of Johannes Brahms. These pieces are considered particularly delicate and demanding, showcasing love in its many musical facets.
The program is complemented by compositions from Wilhelm Berger, Gabriel Fauré, Heinrich von Herzogenberg, and the composers Fanny Hensel and Lili Boulanger.
International ensemble as guest
The Chamber Choir of Europe is an internationally acclaimed ensemble comprised of soloists from various countries. The choir is conducted by Tristan Meister and accompanied by Andreas Frese and Fabian Gehring.
Concert in the Ernst-Ludwig-Saal
The concert begins on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the Ernst-Ludwig-Saal in Darmstadt-Eberstadt. The event is part of over 80 events taking place as part of the day of action.
Tickets are available in advance, including online and at the Darmstadt Shop in the Luisencenter.
