Fundraisers will be out and about from mid-September – they do not accept cash, checks or in-kind donations
From mid-September, the German Red Cross (DRK) in Darmstadt will be conducting door-to-door fundraising in Eberstadt to recruit new supporting members. A designated team will be approaching residents at their homes. Important: The fundraisers are not permitted to accept cash, checks, or in-kind donations.
The German Red Cross (DRK) uses its supporting memberships to finance, among other things, social work for senior citizens, blood drives, disaster relief, first aid services, and youth programs. Membership is possible starting at €36 per year. The DRK Darmstadt also provides its members with medical repatriation insurance for travel abroad.
Door-to-door fundraising: How to recognize the recruiters
During door-to-door fundraising, the recruiters wear German Red Cross (DRK) clothing and can identify themselves with an ID card issued by the DRK. Portrait photos of the individuals working on behalf of the DRK can also be found on the district association's website. These recruiters are neither full-time nor volunteer employees of the DRK.
Only adults can become supporting members. The necessary data, including bank details, is collected via tablet.
