Caritas offers appointments in Darmstadt and Dieburg
The Caritas Association Darmstadt e. V. is offering a taster course for couples on the topic of "Empathetic Communication" in 2026. The three-hour courses will take place on May 29th in Darmstadt and – earlier in April – in Dieburg.
Fundamentals of nonviolent communication
The focus is on so-called empathic communication according to Marshall B. Rosenberg. The goal is to improve interpersonal relationships and to conduct conversations more clearly, with greater understanding, and in a more constructive manner.
The courses are led by therapists Renata Heinz and Melanie Lülsdorf. Participating couples learn how to replace accusations and misunderstandings with open communication.
Practical exercises on a small scale
A maximum of six couples can participate per session. In addition to an introduction to the method, the focus is on practical exercises where what has been learned is directly applied.
This service is aimed at couples who wish to improve their communication. It is explicitly not therapy or counseling and is therefore not suitable for highly conflictual relationships.
Dates and costs
- Friday, May 29, 2026, 5 pm to 8 pm at the Caritas Center Darmstadt
- Cost: 30 to 60 euros per couple (based on self-assessment)
A more in-depth follow-up course with several dates is planned for the end of 2026.
Registration required
Interested couples can register by email with the specialist departments for marriage, family and life counselling: caritaszentrum-eberstadt@caritas-darmstadt.de (for Darmstadt).
