Ten young people gain insights into various professional fields
This year, ten students took the opportunity during Girls' Day and Boys' Day to experience the daily work routine in the municipal administration of Seeheim-Jugenheim for a day.
Insights into many areas of work
The young people were deployed in various areas on April 23, 2026. These included, among others, the citizens' office, the registry office, the depot, the municipal utilities, the fire department, and a refugee accommodation center.
The aim of the day of action is to give young people early insights into different professions and to help them orient themselves for their professional future.
Practical experience in the public order office
The placement at the public order office was particularly practical: Two participants accompanied a public order officer on patrol. Among other things, they were able to witness a bicycle accident and assist with traffic checks.
Riding along in a police car was also among the experiences that the young people are likely to remember.
High demand for internships
With a total of ten participants, interest was particularly high this year. The local council thus recorded one of the highest participation rates in recent years.
