Green recreation area reopens at Luisenplatz
The science city of Darmstadt is bringing the "Mobile Green Room" back to the city center. This planted urban furniture has been part of the city's climate adaptation measures for several years and is intended to improve the quality of life in the city again in 2026.
Start at Luisenplatz
The Green Room is currently located on Luisenplatz. It will be set up at various locations throughout the city during the season.
With its green elements, seating options and shade-providing plants, the project aims to improve the microclimate and reduce heat stress in the city center.
Contribution to climate protection and urban development
Environmental officer Michael Kolmer emphasizes the importance of the project for urban development. The Mobile Green Room combines climate adaptation, environmental education and quality of life, and has established itself as a meeting place in recent years.
Possible use for events
The Green Room can again be used for events this year, for example as a stage or a retreat. Those interested can contact the Darmstadt City Environmental Office.
