On-demand shuttle service will start earlier during rush hour from May
The city of Darmstadt and HEAG mobilo are adjusting the operating hours of the HeinerLiner. From May 1st, 2026, the on-demand shuttle will be in service from 4 pm on weekdays.
Previous journeys for commuters
Previously, the HeinerLiner bus service started at 6 p.m. from Monday to Thursday. In the future, service will begin two hours earlier and end at midnight. This is intended to improve service, particularly during the evening rush hour.
The reason for the adjustment is the lower demand during the late night hours on weekdays. The additional afternoon services primarily benefit commuters.
New timetables at a glance
From Monday to Thursday, the HeinerLiner will operate from 4 pm to midnight.
On Fridays, the service also starts at 4 pm and runs until 5 am.
Weekend hours remain unchanged
The current schedule remains in effect for weekends:
On Saturdays, the HeinerLiner runs from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m.
On Sundays and public holidays, the service is available from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Advance booking is possible again at any time
In addition, advance booking will be made more flexible. From May onwards, trips can again be booked in advance without time restrictions.
