Support for measures in the open countryside
The Groß-Gerau district will continue to provide targeted support for nature and species conservation projects in 2026. Private individuals, associations, and organizations can submit funding applications for planned measures.
Funding for diverse projects
Projects in open countryside – such as meadows, fields, or other areas outside of built-up areas – are eligible for funding. The aim is to preserve biodiversity and improve habitats.
Eligible measures include species conservation projects such as installing nesting aids, creating amphibian ponds, or establishing habitats for lizards. The creation and enhancement of biotopes, such as orchards or extensive meadows, can also be subsidized. Measures for long-term landscape management are also supported.
Numerous projects implemented since 2016
Since the introduction of the funding guidelines in 2016, numerous projects have already been implemented. These include tree planting, nesting boxes, amphibian habitats, and the development and maintenance of various biotopes.
With this funding program, the district aims to strengthen voluntary and professional engagement in nature conservation.
Applications are accepted at any time
Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis, provided the measures make a concrete contribution to nature and species conservation. Further information and the application form are available online:
