237 name suggestions for companions of the new dragon exhibition
237 suggestions were considered, and now the decision has been made: The colorful museum dragon for the upcoming special exhibition "Dragons – Myth and Reality" is named "Naseheiß" (. From October 2nd, the figure will accompany children and families through the exhibition.
At the beginning of June, the museum called on the public to suggest a name for the dragon motif. Kindergarten groups, families, and other dragon enthusiasts participated in the campaign and submitted a total of 237 suggestions.
The exhibition team ultimately unanimously chose "Naseheiß" (Nose Hot). The name refers to the colorful poster dragon that breathes fire and will also appear in the family booklet accompanying the special exhibition.
Dragons between myth and natural science
The special exhibition “Dragons – Myth and Reality” will be on display from October 2, 2026 to January 17, 2027. It approaches the topic from art historical and scientific perspectives and is aimed at adults as well as children.
The exhibition features European and East Asian artworks from various periods, spanning from antiquity to the present day. It also includes scientific exhibits, such as documents from the history of science, fossils millions of years old, and taxidermied animals.
