Outdoor swimming pool ends season with 98,823 visitors – swimming pool association has existed for 30 years and helped with the kiosk operation

Mayor Birgit Kannegießer announced the visitor numbers at the season's closing ceremony on September 13th. The municipality cites the numerous warm and hot days this summer as the main reason for the significant increase compared to the previous year. In 2025, a particularly rainy July had negatively impacted visitor numbers.
Change in kiosk operation
At the start of the season, the municipality had to terminate the contract with the new operator of the outdoor pool kiosk due to operational deficiencies, according to their own statement. The swimming pool association then temporarily took over operation. Later, a new operator was found in Jürgen Blümler and his team from "Bei Moppel".
At the end of the season, Kannegießer thanked the volunteers of the swimming pool association for their dedication. This year, the association also supported the outdoor pool by providing two large sunshades for the children's pool near the entrance.
The swimming pool club has existed for 30 years
The swimming pool association celebrated its 30th anniversary According to the municipality, the association currently has 540 members and is committed to the preservation and further development of the Jugenheim outdoor swimming pool. The pool's 95th anniversary was celebrated last year.
Together with the outdoor swimming pool team and the DLRG Pfungstadt, the club organized another swimming badge day this season.
For the first time, Jürgen Hoffmann and his team from Aqua Power were primarily responsible for managing the swimming pool. According to the municipality, the team has been working at the Jugenheim outdoor pool for 13 years.
