Notices for 2022 will be sent out from September 24th – a separate SEPA mandate is required for direct debits
The town of Riedstadt, known for its connection to Büchner, is sending out the outstanding notices for recurring street maintenance fees for 2022 on September 24, 2026. Although street maintenance fees have not been levied in Riedstadt since the beginning of 2025, statements for the years 2022 to 2024 are still outstanding.
The city council decided to abolish street improvement fees as of January 1, 2025. Any outstanding fees from previous years are not affected
Notices initially for the year 2022
With the now-announced mailing, the city will begin issuing notices for 2022. According to the city, these notices are based on the ownership and property conditions existing at the time the notices are issued.
The notification does announce notices for the still outstanding years 2023 and 2024, but does not specify a date for their dispatch.
A separate SEPA direct debit mandate is required for street maintenance fees
The city also points out that a separate direct debit authorization is required for recurring street maintenance fees. Existing SEPA mandates, for example for property tax, could not be transferred to street maintenance fees.
Anyone who does not wish to transfer the amount due themselves and has not yet issued a corresponding direct debit mandate can do so via the city's website under "Citizen Services / Municipal Charges / SEPA Direct Debit Mandate" .
