Films, themed evenings and cultural events at the Saalbau cinema
At the Saalbau cinema in Pfungstadt, the Förderverein kommunales Kino Pfungstadt e. V. and the KUK-Kino und Kultur eG have once again put together a diverse program for the coming months.
Men's night out and cinema with coffee and cake
The Friends Association will be showing "Kill Bill – THE WHOLE BLUDDY AFFAIR" on Thursday, June 11, 2026, as part of their men's night. For the discounted admission price of seven euros, visitors will also receive a free beer.
On Sunday, June 16, 2026, the cinema team invites you to their popular "Coffee and Cake Before the Cinema" event starting at 3 p.m. Afterwards, at 5:30 p.m., "The Devil Wears Prada 2" will be shown.
The film "The Richest Woman in the World" has been selected for the "Afternoon Cinema" program on June 30, 2026. It tells the story of Marianne Farrère, played by Isabelle Huppert, the heiress to a cosmetics company.
Cult films and special events
On July 18, 2026, the event "Cocktails before the Film" will take place again. Which film will be shown was not yet known at the time of publication.
The "Best of Cinema" series brings well-known classics and cult films back to the big screen every first Tuesday of the month. On July 7, 2026, Sean Penn's award-winning adventure "Into the Wild" is on the program.
A special highlight will follow as part of the South Hesse Cultural Summer on Monday, August 17, 2026: The silent film "Metropolis" will be shown with live musical accompaniment by the Julian Gramm team. Admission costs ten euros.
On Monday, August 24, 2026, the Pfungstadt Advisory Board for the Older Generation will offer “Teeth like stars, they have to come out at night!! – The Senior Citizens' Program”.
Eberhofer crime thriller planned for October
Fans of the popular Eberhofer series can already look forward to October. That's when the cinema team will be showing "Steckerlfischfiasko," the tenth Eberhofer crime film starring Sebastian Bezzel, Simon Schwarz, and Lisa Maria Potthoff. Before the film, the band Alpenglühn will provide musical entertainment.
The Saalbau cinema also offers films from various genres five evenings a week. In addition to entertainment films and more sophisticated productions, the program also includes children's films. Admission to children's films costs six euros – even for adults.
