Four days of cultural program in Leeheim and Goddelau with free admission
The association BüchnerFindetStatt invites you to the sixth Büchnerland Festival in Riedstadt from June 18th to 21st, 2026. A diverse program of music, theater, cabaret, and discussions awaits visitors at the venues in the Leeheim church garden "Unter den Linden" and at the Büchner House in Goddelau.
Thanks to funding from the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Art and Culture, admission to all events is free. Donations are welcome.
Opening with "Songs under the Linden Trees"
The festival will be opened on Thursday, June 18th, at 7:30 pm with the concert evening “Songs under the Linden Trees” in the Protestant church garden in Leeheim.
The format was originally conceived as a thank you to the Protestant parish for supporting the BüchnerBühne during the Corona pandemic. Musicians and choirs from Riedstadt and the surrounding region perform on stage. Among them are Ried-Ukester Stockstadt, Nils Köbel from Mayence Acoustique, Klaus Lohr from Bees Denäwe, Sabine Perl, Sir Andrew and Karen Brunnet, LutherBrass Mainz, the men's choir of the Protestant church in Riedstadt, and the BüchnerBühne band.
Folk and rock with Tone Fish
On Friday, June 19th, starting at 7:30 pm, the band Tone Fish will perform a concert. The group combines influences from Irish music, bluegrass, and rock, reinterpreting traditional pieces as well as their own original material.
A satirical look at revolution and the freedom movement
On Saturday, June 20th, the BüchnerBühne ensemble will present the program "Peace to the Cottages" at 3 pm at the Büchnerhaus. Through texts and songs, events of the Vormärz period, the Revolution of 1848/49, and the Imperial era will be satirically examined.
Cabaret evening with Meigl Hoffmann
On Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m., Leipzig cabaret artist and actor Meigl Hoffmann will perform in Leeheim. In his program "Oiled Wit – on the Frame of the Mona Lisa," he slips into the role of museum guard Manfred Subbotnik and combines social criticism with humor.
Musical brunch and debate
Sunday begins at 11 a.m. with a musical brunch. The Canadian singer-songwriter and violinist Aline Deanna will be performing.
The series concludes with the "Republican Roundtable" on Sunday, June 21, at 6 p.m. in the Büchner Barn. The guest speaker will be business journalist and author Ulrike Herrmann. She will speak on the topics of capitalism, war, and democracy, followed by a discussion with the audience.
Catering available at both locations
Food and drinks will be available during the festival. At the Büchnerhaus, Schorsch-Town will be serving guests at the "Woi Eck" (wine corner), while in Leeheim, the Friends of Refugees group will be providing refreshments.
Further information about the festival can be found at the BüchnerBühne and the BüchnerFindetStatt association.
