Blue-green algae make being in the water dangerous to your health
Given the summer temperatures, the city of Weiterstadt once again reminding residents that swimming in Steinrodsee is prohibited. This is due to the significant health risks posed by the regular formation of blue-green algae.
According to the city, blue-green algae blooms occur repeatedly in Steinrodsee due to natural conditions. These can harmful to the health of humans and animals and pose a significant risk to swimming or contact with the water.
The city administration therefore urgently requests that the bathing ban be observed and that Steinrodsee not be used as a bathing lake.
