SV Darmstadt 98 is preparing intensively for the new season in Bad Wörishofen
With their training camp in Bad Wörishofen, SV Darmstadt 98 enters the crucial phase of their pre-season preparations. For the second year in a row, the Lilies are setting up their summer base in the Allgäu spa town, where they will put the finishing touches on their preparations for the new season until July 26th.
On Sunday morning, the group of players, coaching staff, and support personnel set off for Bad Wörishofen, a town of approximately 18,000 inhabitants. Upon arrival, the first training session was already on the agenda for the afternoon. The team cycled from their hotel to the training grounds, located about two kilometers away, where head coach Florian Kohfeldt and his coaching staff began intensive training with the team.
The focus of the training week, besides tactical aspects, is primarily on team cohesion and the integration of the new signings. "The overarching goal is to come together as a group," Kohfeldt explained before departure. Numerous individual discussions will be held to define roles within the team, without finalizing them at this stage.
A demanding program awaits Darmstadt on the pitch as well. Training will focus on transitions between deep defending and high pressing, as well as how to deal with aggressively pressing opponents. The team is entering the final phase of intensive training before the friendly against SG Sonnenhof Großaspach on Saturday, which will mark the sporting conclusion of their training camp.
