Joseph Haydn's oratorio "The Creation" will be performed on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in the Church of the Holy Spirit in Darmstadt-Arheilgen. The three-part work musically depicts the creation of the world.
Haydn uses a variety of musical means to depict nature, animals, and the creation of the world. A charging horse, the roar of a lion, or animals crawling on the ground find their musical expression, as does the splendor of the sky.
"The Creation" tells the story of the origin of the world
"The Creation" is one of Haydn's great oratorios and was a significant success even during the composer's lifetime. The work can now be heard in Darmstadt's Church of the Holy Spirit.
The concert operates on a "pay what you can" basis. A suggested price of €20 is given. The ticket price can be adjusted up or down during booking. Seating is unreserved.
