Awards for up to 70 years of choral singing presented at a ceremony at the Büchner House
At this year's singers' awards ceremony in the town of Riedstadt, long-serving singers were honored for their dedication to choral singing. The awards, recognizing 25 to 70 years of active singing, were presented at a ceremony in the art gallery at the Büchner House.
First City Councillor Richard Kraft, together with City Councillor Carola Friedrich, acknowledged the long-standing commitment of the honorees to their choirs. They presented them with certificates and wine gifts.
Dieter Glock has been singing in the choir for 70 years
Dieter Glock from the singing department of SKG Erfelden can boast the longest tenure : He was honored for 70 years of choral singing.
have each 65 years of membership . Heinrich Hammann, also of the Wolfskehlen Singers' Association, received an award for 50 years of membership.
Willi Bischoff was honored for 40 years of choral singing, and Gudrun Grunenberg for 25 years. Both are also members of the Wolfskehlen Singers' Association.
Further honors will be bestowed upon Anja Kleinböhl and Klaus Klee for 40 years of choral singing, as well as Silvia Bettinger, Regina Stumpf, and Tatjana Stumpf for 25 years. They were unable to attend the ceremony and will receive their certificates later.
A final song together
Also participating in the singers' ceremony were Hans Kopp, chairman of the Wolfskehlen Singers' Association and the Groß-Gerau Singers' District, and Ottmar Eberling, chairman of the SKG Erfelden.
At the end of the ceremony, everyone sang together in the art gallery and reminisced about experiences from many years of choral singing.
