The youth group of the TuS Zwiebelbühne will present four performances at the town hall on September 26th and 27th
The TuS Zwiebelbühne (TuS Onion Stage) will present the family play "The Magic Fountain" at the Griesheim Onion Market . The youth group will perform the fairy tale on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in meeting room C of the Griesheim town hall.
"The Magic Fountain" at the Griesheim Onion Market
Under the direction of Marion Ehses, the young amateur actors are bringing the play by Stephanie Arden and Michael Knoll to the stage. For the performances, the youth group transforms the meeting room, usually used as a workspace, into a fairytale world.
The story centers on Princess Rosalinde, who is kidnapped by the sorcerer Abraxomas just days before her birthday and imprisoned in a magic well. King Gichtbert and Queen Rheumalinde search for someone who can free their daughter.
Princes Tinnitus and Ludwig first attempt to solve a riddle set by the wizard, but fail. Then, farm boy Hans sets off into the enchanted forest. There he meets, among others, the forest fairy Zitronella. Herbal witch Estragonia and goblin Myrksnbyx, however, try to prevent the princess's rescue.
The youth group's performances are a regular part of the TuS Zwiebelbühne's program at the Onion Market. This year, according to the theater group, the performance times were changed based on suggestions from the audience.
Tickets available at the box office
The box office opens 60 minutes before the first performance at 2 pm and 30 minutes before the second performance at 4 pm on both days. Tickets for both performances that day are available when the box office opens.
