Three concert evenings in the historic courtyard at Luisenplatz
The Darmstadt Residence Festival begins on Friday, July 31st , with a concert in the courtyard of the historic Kollegiengebäude (College Building) on Luisenplatz, at the Darmstadt Regional Council. For 25 years now , the headquarters of the state authority has been one of the regular venues for the cultural festival.
To kick things off, Regional President Prof. Dr. Jan Hilligardt welcomed visitors to the courtyard of the Regional Council building. "I am very much looking forward to welcoming Wolfgang Seeliger and his team back for three days. The festival director was rightly honored by the city for his contributions to local cultural life. For us, as a state authority with a long tradition in the heart of Darmstadt, it goes without saying that we support an event series like the Residenzfestspiele," said Hilligardt.
The Haricots Rouges with French New Orleans jazz. On Saturday, the Golden Voices of Gospel, before a pantomime duo concludes the series of events in the atmospherically illuminated courtyard on Sunday.
The Darmstadt Residence Festival lasts a total of ten days and runs until August 9th. The program includes concerts and other cultural events at various special locations in the city, including the Hessian State Museum, Kranichstein Hunting Lodge, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Mathildenhöhe and the Darmstadt Regional Council.
According to the organizers, a few tickets are still available for the three events at the Regional Council building. The complete program and tickets can be found on the Residenzfestspiele website.
