The 3rd police precinct is offering appointments at Löwenplatz on September 12th
The Darmstadt 3rd Police Precinct is offering bicycle coding in Arheilgen on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The event will take place as part of the trade fair from 2 pm to 5 pm at Löwenplatz. Prior appointments are required for coding.
Bicycle coding is intended to make it more difficult to resell stolen bikes. At the same time, it makes it easier to return a found bicycle to its owner. The police recommend coding as a supplement to a robust bicycle lock and other theft prevention measures.
Registration on September 3rd and 4th
Appointments for bicycle coding can only be arranged on Thursday, September 3rd, and Friday, September 4th , from 9 am to 12 pm by calling 06151 / 969-53400
When registering, you should have personal details as well as the manufacturer, type and frame number of your bicycle ready.
For the coding process itself, you will need to bring an identification document and proof of ownership for the bicycle. Owners of e-bikes and pedelecs will also need their battery key.
Remove attachments beforehand
To reduce waiting times on site, the police request that attachments such as locks or containers be removed from the frame before the appointment. Bicycles with carbon frames cannot be coded.
Anyone who is unable to participate on September 12th can find further dates for bicycle coding on the website of the Hessian police.
