From children's cities to AI: Holiday programs for children and young people during the summer holidays
The science city of Darmstadt offers a diverse program for children and young people during the summer holidays of 2026. The range of activities, organized by clubs, associations, institutions, and open youth work organizations, extends from leisure trips and creative workshops to open play and exercise opportunities.
Numerous activities are available for different age groups. For example, there are still spaces available for boys aged six to 14 in the "Albert Schweitzer City C" holiday program, which takes place from July 25th to 30th at the Albert Schweitzer House. Registration for the Arheilgen holiday program "Active Holidays on Tour" begins on June 15th.
Further leisure trips and holiday offers can be found via the holiday portal for children's and youth leisure activities in Hesse .
Open offers without registration
Numerous activities can be attended without prior registration. These include the children's city in the Rudolph-Mueller-Anlage from July 7th to 24th, the "Summer in the South" holiday program in Eberstadt-Süd from June 30th to July 3rd, and mobile holiday activities in the publishers' quarter.
Furthermore, many youth centers in Darmstadt offer their own holiday programs. Up-to-date information on these programs is published by the Children and Youth Services department under the hashtag #Darmstadt4U on Instagram.
Creative holiday activities for young people
Those who want to get creative during the holidays will also find plenty of opportunities. These include offerings from the young adult education center, the "Alice*Workshop," detective holiday games at the Matthäus parish youth center, and a stop-motion workshop at the Akazienweg youth center. There, children and teenagers can develop and implement their own film projects.
