Zoo educator explains fascinating reproductive strategies on June 11th
The Vivarium Zoo in Darmstadt invites you to a special evening tour on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Titled "The Wild Love Life of Animals," the tour offers visitors fascinating insights into the diverse reproductive strategies of the animal kingdom. It begins at 8 p.m.
The focus is on the different ways animals ensure the survival of their offspring. This includes surprising behaviors, unusual role distributions, and fascinating adaptations in nature.
Fascinating questions from the animal world
The tour will be led by Dr. Frank Velte, zoo educator and research associate at the Vivarium. He will explain, among other things, what lies behind so-called intraspecific brood parasitism, why females dominate in some animal species, and what significance fidelity has in the animal kingdom.
In addition, numerous other aspects of the reproductive behavior of various animal species are presented.
Registration required
The meeting point for the evening tour is the zoo entrance. Regular Vivarium admission prices apply.
As the number of participants is limited, prior registration is requested by calling 06151 13-46900.
