Works by Dennis Haustein will be on display from April 24th
The Literaturhaus Darmstadt will present the exhibition "uncertain ground" by artist Dennis Haustein from April 24 to December 11, 2026. The presentation spans all five floors of the building and is part of World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026.
Opening with tour
The exhibition opens on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 6 p.m. Following a welcome address by the head of the cultural affairs office, there will be an introduction to the exhibition. Afterwards, a guided tour with the artist is planned. Admission to the opening is free.
Art about nature and society
The exhibition focuses on the concept of "contamination," understood as the reciprocal interweaving of life forms. The works address themes such as destruction, conflict, coexistence, and chance encounters.
In his photographic work, Haustein explores the relationship between humans and nature, as well as how nature is scientifically represented and socially interpreted. Urban spaces and social dimensions also come into focus.
Contribution to World Design Capital
The Darmstadt Literature House and the Darmstadt Art Archive are participating in the World Design Capital 2026 with this exhibition. The aim is to make artistic perspectives on ecological and social issues visible.
Opening hours
The exhibition is open Tuesdays from 10 am to 1 pm, Thursdays from 10 am to 6 pm, and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm. Other appointments are available upon request.
