Connection between north and south remains interrupted for now
The dirt road along the Küchlergraben will remain closed indefinitely. As the city of Griesheim has announced, this means that an important connection between the northern and southern parts of the district will once again be unavailable on May 1st.
Damage caused by construction work
The reason for the closure is the unsafe condition of the road. Construction work on high-voltage power lines has severely damaged this section. Due to the existing hazards and the duty to ensure traffic safety, the affected area is completely closed to all road users.
Closure also for pedestrians
From the B26 federal highway, the path is still accessible for approximately 600 meters. Beyond that point, there is a complete closure, which also applies to pedestrians. On the opposite side, the closure begins at the level of the model airfield.
Diversion via Westring
The western ring road can be used as an alternative connection between the field areas. A short-term reopening is not currently foreseeable.
Repair planned
The path is scheduled for repair, but this can only take place after the work on the high-voltage power lines is completed. A specific date has not yet been set.
